"But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You
defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You." (Psalm 5:11)
Kaufmann Kohler states in the Jewish Encyclopedia, "No language has as many words for joy and
rejoicing as does Hebrew. In the Old Testament thirteen Hebrew roots, found in twenty-seven
different words, are used primarily for some aspect of joy or joyful participation in worship. The
Hebrew religion exemplified God as the true source of joy and happiness. In contrast to the rituals
of other faiths of the East, Israelite worship was essentially a joyous proclamation and
celebration."
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" (Phil. 4:4)
